"I still find it a bit odd that positive changes intended to improve health, air quality and reduce congestion can be so polarising." Ed I feel really sorry for you. This has never been the agenda. There is and never has been any evidence (e.g, traffic modelling) that shows that the traffic restrictions to Chiswick High Road and neighbouring roads will "improve health, air quality and reduce congestion". The evidence such as it is shows that the the because of the traffic schemes air pollution is moved about a bit from one street to another, that people spend longer in their cars and buses, and that congestion actually gets worse. That is why there are so many angry people. Millions spent - air quality not improved, longer journey times and bumper to bumper congestion. You have been sold a pup. Time to recognise that fact and apologise to the rest of us. |
