"All that space celebrating the past that could have been used to store cars instead" Not really sure what Paul's point is here. Nor am I ever sure. But if we look at this through the lens of opportunity (versus rhetoric) for my money the pavement space between Brackley and Annandale should be completely rethought. Just because Hogarth is there doesn't make it precious. Look closely. It's a bit of a mess. Poorly maintained, uneven pavements, benches set on slopes, etc. I'd redesign the entire area, do away with the odd cobbled-bit outside the pub or cobble the entire area, put in proper seating and planting and create another pocket park for the center of Chiswick. Then maybe a lovely cafe/bakery would find it a suitable location. |
