| Derek Hill recounted the following: "At 2:30pm I tried to drive from Shepherds Bush roundabout to Tesco on Cromwell Road and couldn't even get as far as High Street Kensington. Gave up and went home. Then left again at 4pm to drive my grandson to Greenford. Took 1 hour 45 minutes despite taking all the back doubles and rat runs I know of around Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove, Harrow Road etc. Mayhem." And Julian Pavey reckons: "This [the "gridlock" of the title] is down to the cycle lane no doubt about it" Now it may well be that the cycle lane along a stretch of CHR contributed to the problem locally, as did eg the emergency road works on Acton Lane. But to attribute ALL of the reported disruption to the cycle lane is silly. |
