I think the Hounslow strategy is becoming pretty clear. E-W routes are the A315 CHR and A4. N-S routes are the A406/A205 (N and S Circular), Acton Lane, A402 Goldhawk Rd, A316 Chiswick Lane and Sutton Court Rd. If you are driving through Chiswick, those will be the roads you will use. I’d expect to see shortcuts like Dukes Ave and Barrowgate Rd filtered as well at some point. Not sure about Prebend Gdns. If it was much of a short cut then people would have already been using it and I don’t know if that was the case. There are plans for the SCR / A4 junction (haven’t seen them..) but they will need money which isn’t available yet and TfL approval. I think the lowest capacity of all those roads may be Acton Lane. If it has traffic just coming from south of Uxbridge Rd, it shouldn’t be an issue. There might need to be measures to stop it being used as a through route by traffic north of Uxbridge Rd. |
