The same, albeit on a wider scale is being implemented in Ealing where Boston Road is being totally isolated from Northfield Avenue by 'low traffic initiatives' (tatty wooden planters and steel poles). Any journey from Boston Road to Northfield Avenue now means a minimum mile-and-a-half detour via a congested Uxbridge Road or a dangerously narrow for volume traffic Swyncombe Avenue. Increased pollution, traffic jams and frustration will ensue. A carer's trip to the local chmist or pharmacy which took 5-7 minutes will now take a minimum of 25 minutes (just did it to see how long it would take). Not to worry though as reading the Ealing Dear Leader's dictat in the online version of Pravda, sorry Around Ealing, yesterday and residents affected by this lunacy will get a whole ONE WEEK'S notice of road closures. |
