| I wouldn't be that comfortable with road closures by request. It would inevitably mean that more prosperous areas were likely to get requests granted as residents would tend to be better at going through the application process. This would result in the net displacement of traffic to roads on which people on lower incomes lived. Better to have a centrally organised coherent strategy although the current situation in Hounslow and Ealing seems to be far from that. |
