| I see new arrangements are being floated by the government to allow residents to ask for road closures to stop traffic using their street. I can see this will end up with most residential areas becoming inaccessible to passing traffic, as in parts of Walthamstow. It'll also be like CPZs, when once one neighbourhood does it, the next one has to do the same to repel the extra traffic sent their way. With shopping streets also closed to traffic to help pedestrians, it'll become increasingly difficult to get about until our public transport gets back to normal. |
