Clapham North is a great example as is King ST almost on our doorstep where every Thursday there are food stalls right next to other cafes Ruth you'd do yourself a favor if you presented the whole picture. I know this isn't your style, but let's give it a go just once. King Street has the support of both LBHF and the local BID backed by such companies as L'Oreal and Disney. Lyric Square is also at the doorstep of the recently built commercial mid-rises just by the Hammersmith and City line (oh yeah, a transportation hub just like Hammersmith Station across the street bringing thousands upon thousands to the area). Behind L'Oreal up goes another one with a public space included. You have the mall. You have the mall parking. It has not only the necessary density and day population to sustain it, it also has the infrastructure to support it. Side note - I think that market is twice a week. Businesses in Chiswick of that significance have a private campus called Chiswick Business Park. They have great events for those employees, but that's it. And the folks that organize it, Enjoy Work or whatever it is, have no interest in liaising with local businesses to generate participation. |
