I assume the paved area at the front of Pain Quo is the responsibility of the freeholder of the block while they wait for a new tenant to come along. Thus they should be requested/required (by the council?) to keep it tidy. The rest of the block is already flats but I guess local authorities are loath to lose ground floor commercial/retail sites in their high streets. I gather Lend Lease at the other end of CHR promised to smarten up their abandoned shop fronts, but nothing seems to have been done there. Not even a giant picture of a croissant or a sofa pasted on the window. If they don't hurry the old Blockbusters shop front will become a site of special historic interest, with its original 'return videos here' letter box! |
