| No Paul..the question was whether there would be a call from the public for a referendum to join if we were not already members, so share and sterling conditions would be as they were before the recent one. And before you say we would not have been the 5th biggest economy in the world but for the EU, we have to accept that we are and yes, we may not have been so successful outside but we also may have been more successful, even the 4th biggest, if we had not joined.I am not so sure, with all the CONDITIONS attatched to membership, that the public or hmg would really want to join the EU as is. |
