| I'm in awe of so much negativity, so UK Plc rolls over and does nothing to limit damage? I think not. Digby Jones sees this an opportunity as do 1,000's of other business people, alternatively we could all adopt your defeatist attitude. According to Article 50 we have 2 years to negotiate with EU businesses terms that benefit both EU and UK businesses, so let's use that time wisely instead of whinging and being defeatist. And if you believe that new markets can't be created and that the "500,000,000 affluent sophisticated consumers" etc are the only ones available to the UK you really need to re-evaluate your thoughts, not to mention that many of our EU trading partners will not want to lose the UK market. So instead of being negative look at the new opportunities open to us, as well as retaining, with negotiation, our existing ones. As a nation we have always responded positively to adverse situations and come out on top. |
