Thank you Sam. Questions :- " It is not a statuary service which the council has to provide." However the recycling rate has to increase from 35% to 50% by 2020. Is this the right time for us to be discouraged from recycling it? "It will prevent the misuse of the current service by gardening contractors" Contractors would need more than our council bags to remove quantities from heavy gardening jobs and clearing the site is part of their contract. If we have asked a jobbing gardener to do a bit of tidying rather than do it ourselves can he not use our bags as we would have done? " not all residents use the garden waste service but they all pay for it through their council tax." Do all those who are living in flats without gardens pay the same tax as those in houses with gardens? "Anyone who doesn't want to pay or can't afford it can compost their garden waste or take it to Space Waye or civic amenities in neighbouring boroughs." If they don't have space for composters and don't have cars what should they do? Are we allowed to have more than 2 bags? What is to be done with the green bags? Will thousands of them have to go into the landfill bins? What if our brown bags are not returned to the right house or are stolen? We need to know these things |
