YES! Absolutely! (although I doubt flooding in W4 is a likely consequence – more like problems with dried-out house foundations).. But Philippa's holistic approach to wheelies (and rubbish in general) is usually an interesting read and often (like this one) accurate. Looking around our neighbouring W4 front gardens you see more and more being converted into ugly designated slabs of “fashionable” slate tiles or (even worse) gravel - leading to ugly as sin concrete/cheap wood bunkers in which to “hide” away the rubbish bins. How typically suburban can you get! Soil, shrubs and flowerbeds are already becoming distant memories in some areas of W4 - as front gardens are increasingly being converted into a purpose-built halfway-houses for household rubbish - conveniently ready and waiting (with the absolute minimum of fuss) for the collectors to come... Resist the trend.. |
