I should stress I'm 'just' a planner, I'm not a Conservation expert and indeed I often find my views as a planner are in conflict with the views of Conservation experts - as I also pointed out earlier just before I left Hounslow I felt the then Conservation Officer's issues with an enforcement matter were absurd and I was strongly against enforcing, yet on appeal the Inspector agreed with the Conservation Officer. Also, just to be clear, I'm not saying he's been badly advised. As I said earlier there are times when I think it's far better for an applicant to address a committee than a professional. But I don't expect any of the media hullabaloo to have any impact on the decision whatsoever, and as I keep saying nor should it. |
