Andrew, the drivers that strayed into the bus lane will be safe. There are no bus lane cameras along the stretch of Chiswick high approaching Acton Lane. The only stretch of road that is covered by camera is from Gunnerbury station to Chiswick roundabout. This stretch is covered by a small covert camera hidden behind a tree.Even when you know where it is, it's very difficult to see.I would not be surprised if this is Hounslows "golden egg"I am sure this camera must be the councils greatest revenue raiser. The stretch of road from Gunnersbury is virtually always congested, so motorists have to sit in traffic crawling along that single track.Very often as they approach the end of the single track, drivers clip off the end of the bus lane where the road becomes dual track again, and those few metres will cost them £120 thank you very much.Time and time again I see cars crossing the end of the bus lane.It is obvious this camera is purely a revenue raiser. It is a small round camera about the size of 2 coke cans. It's sole purpose is to add to Hounslows coffers. It's despicable |
