| Andy - I'm pleased to say that my personal experience of the NHS has been very positive but pretty limited. Unlike you I am lucky enough to have no serious conditions other than getting old. So my comment that it's the best in the world is not to do with personal experience but with research by the Commonwealth Fund of New York, a foundation financed by the legacy of an oil man and the prime international health research outfit. Look at any of their stuff and the NHS comes out best on most measures. As to Amazon, each to his own. I don't have religion about it but I try to avoid using them because I don't like their employment or tax practices. I prefer to spend my money with businesses who do the right thing by their staff and my country. |
