| Visited Currys PC World on the Great West Road on Saturday to buy an item - having first checked online that it was in stock at that store. Item on display. Member of staff goes off to find it in the stock room. During the long wait for him to return I checked again online and, yes, the item was still showing as in stock at this store. Staff member returns. On display but not in stock. Showed him the current status page on their website, which I'm not sure he had even seen before. He then asked, 'Did you ring before coming?' Returned home. Ordered the same item online from John Lewis (at the same price) just before 5:30pm on Saturday via the collect at your local Waitrose store service. Email arrived 10:30am on Sunday to say it had been delivered to the Chiswick High Road branch and was ready for collection. Not hard to guess which company will get my business next time. |
