"It would be good to see more done to reduce it." So what exactly do you suggest? How would this be done? What about second home owners resident in the UK - those who own homes in France and Spain (let alone the west country or Wales)? What is good for the goose is good for the gander. One obvious response to an annual mansion tax would be to down size in London and buy a second home in say the Isle of Wight or the Cotswolds. How would you stop such "avoidance" tactics? |
