| Maybe not a major policy change but certainly another significant U-turn which at least will give pubs slightly less to worry about this year - though they're not out of the woods by any stretch of the imagination. The landlord of a pub near my work told me the other day that the various changes meant they would be taking a hit of about £40k more this year compared to last year. How much of that was attributable to the withdrawal of the relief that came in during the pandemic I don't know unfortunately. I've no reason to believe he was exagerating the £40k figure. |
