| Industry surveys show a third of pubs are operating at a loss. Pubs are closing their doors for the final time at a frightening rate. A number of reasons are cited. It is incontrovertible that the huge increases in business rates, employers' NI, and the rise in the minimum wage (with it's ratcheting effect on differentials) are making the situation a great deal worse. |
