| It surprises me the number of people who think it is OK to steal. Adults are so often casual about it and don't set a good example. The situation is exacerbated by parents who give their children everything and more when they lose or wreck what they have been given. The poor are more likely to share what little they have than the rich. I do think that low level crime leads to worse crime. The gap between rich and poor as increased. If you take away opportunity you can take away hope. This is why other activities like sport and music are so important. Unfortunately these seem too often to be limited by the reduction in the what is freely available to keep youngsters occupied and achieving and away from aggressive computer games. Even the cartoons are aggressive nowadays. Isn't this a stressful enough time with exams anyway? The good weather keeps people out too late! |
