| Paul - you just do not get it do you? Please do go on ... what are these facts ? The wheels are coming off your bandwagon and it is time that you revisited the unfounded assumptions that you have made about how the real world operates. This is not about people making"ludicrously short journeys". This is about normal people going about their lives travelling to and from work, visiting clients and housebound elderly/sick relatives, making deliveries of food and other essential goods and services, this about emergency service vehicles that are forbidden to take the shortest route when serving our community. The barrier on Staveley Road / Park Road serves only one function and that is to make the lives of motorists more difficult. It does not prevent a single driver from entering the Grove Park Area since it sits in the middle of the Grove Park Area and not on its perimeter. The reduction in the number of vehicles travelling through the area is the result of the access restrictions (Cameras and barriers) on the entrances on the perimeter i.e. Hartington Road, Staveley Road and Burlington Lane. |
