| Hounslow and Ealing councils chose to ignore a 2020 petition objecting to the closure which collected 11,000 signatures. That’s significantly more than a quarter of Chiswick’s population. Ealing council ignored cycle counts, traffic counts and slower bus time data which was presented to them. Their own stats didn’t stack up and in particular they failed to collect data before the pandemic as a comparison. Katherine Dunne of Hounslow and Deirdre Costigain of Ealing continue to ignore horrendous daily crawling traffic along South Parade and Acton Lane as well as the spillover onto Turnham Green Terrace. We can all see how this ‘project’ has failed badly, resulting in increased pollution, horrible commutes for many people, longer journeys and basically making peoples lives a misery. All for nothing. How long are people prepared to tolerate this abuse? |
