"We have a struggling high street - you would think that some reminders of where to visit on CHR" You're right, Philippa, it is struggling. It is also clogged with the wares of global companies with venture capital invested in growth not profit who have free access to the pavements to promote their products and services. So it's perplexing you think they should have a free ride but those of us paying rents and rates should not. If I were to leave an A-board outside of your home for free it would no doubt cause a ruckus. But what it would also do is keep our name in conversation building awareness and familiarity which would eventually translate into an uptick in foot fall. There is no such thing as bad advertising as the saying goes. But what I do not have is billions of pounds/dollars from backers to do whatever the hell I want. That would be your precious Mobikes who have and can do that. Let me know when you can dig up their contribution to LBH coffers. Oh right, you can't. Because their very own spokesman said for the record at the Chiswick Area Forum a few months back they don't pay one red cent. And yet you claim to support local businesses by promoting a double standard for them. Brilliant. Go hug a tree. Oh wait, you can't do that either because they will be cut down for CS9. Doubly brilliant. |
