A typical post from Paul Corcoran, who confidently predicts the future on the basis of minimal evidence and knowledge. Do you remember the rubbish you confidently posted about the design for Kew Bridge without of course having seen the design? Your interpretation of DfT guidance is incorrect. The minimum width by the church is 8.2m, add 0.5m from the cycle path and that is 8.7m. The width further down CHR at places will already be 9m for 3 lanes and if they wanted this width (and it may not be necessary) additional road space could be easily gained from the kerb between cycleway and roadway and tightening up the existing kerb outside the barrier. The fact that you are advocating cycling on the pavement as the best solution really says it all. |
