Why am I not surprised by TfL's actions or the comments of some of the people on this thread (when I agree with it it's fair, when I don't, it's not). It seems that we will now lose our one direct connection to Kensington and still have route 9 running light to Stamford Brook from Hammersmith, whilst route 10 will be cut completely. I work at the Albert Hall quite often and getting home from concerts alongside the audience is a scrum as it is with two routes serving Hammersmith and the option to get the 27 from High Street Ken if all else fails 9as it sometimes does). Neither TfL or the DfT will admit that the decrease in bus travel is largely due to the fact that cash fares have been withdrawn and paper tickets are considerably more expensive for thoser who don't want to swell TfL's coffers by paying in advance for a journey that they might not even make. Meanwhile how much are TfL losing from visitrs who, often as not ride for free because they are unaware that they cannot pay on board or even purchase a ticket in advance easily? Of course they could always claw back £70M+ from other budgets so that the majority of travellers could be served properly.
