| I should have guessed this thread would focus mainly on the relatively rare disabled mobility scooters and over-done-on-the-forum cyclist issues. That shifts the focus from spoilt children and their parents/carers, inconsiderate mobile phone users, reckless runners, aggressive pram pushers, adult scooter/rollerskate/skateboard risk takers and others who making walking on pavements unacceptably hazards. Could that be because among these risk-creators are people on the forum and nowadays it is always someone else who is to blame, never people 'like us'. As I said in my original post, my prime concern is for people who are not fit and able bodied for various reasons, such as older people with more fragile bones that take longer to heal than younger people. One day when I said this to two children who scootered towards me down a narrow lane, their mother told them not to listen to nasty old men. She didn't seem untypical of the Chiswick resident or working population, as have been most of the other risk-creators I have mentioned. |
