It's not good enough when the parents (or are they just minders - they're definitely not carers) don't give any instruction ie as to fact that the pavement is not their own and that they have to share and show respect to other users. When recovering from a fall I was faced with a small child on a scooter looking the other heading straight at me. I had the audacity to call out "Look where you are going" in an anxious but not unfriendly tone (it was a small child after all) only to be yelled at by the parent that I was not to talk to their child like that. I replied that I would do - but maybe I should have just yelled at the parent instead - but I doubt if that would go down very well! |
