Back with he original topic... if the govenment realises what a big mistake it would be to allow a third runway, then they might think 'mixed mode' operation was an acceptable compromise. Surely they must recognise that runway alternation, the Cranford agreement and the restrictions on night flights were set up for very good reasons. Don't they realise they will be creating real problems for lots of real people? As I've said before, I believe increasing the number of planes using Heathrow (particularly to allow more transit passenger capacity) is a strategic mistake. Full stop. There are other ways of increasing effectiveness at that site..... |
