"...it is of course impossible to separate bikes and buses..." Why ? Many cities in Europe manage it. London needs more dedicated cycle routes to be created where cyclists do not have to share road space with powered vehicles. Personally I like the section of King Street where this occurs, by kerbing off the cycle lane, although I know others have differing views on that. I also think the loss of the cycle lane on the footpath on CHR east of Heathfield Terrace was a retrograde step. There are cycle routes in Camden north of St Pancras Station that work well, and I hope that Boris will encourage more similar routes to be set up. |
