Perhaps the problem is poor design, ignoring ones own best guidance and the failure of modal shift. Of course it could also be all those roving Ubers new to the roads (relatively speaking) and the upward trajectory of unnecessary personal deliveries. I know, I know, how horrific it would be to walk to pick up dinner. Wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone now would see? Or take the tube to the mall to buy some trainers. Let's let Amazon do it all! It could also be unlicensed vehicle operators like the father and his child on an unauthorised e-scooter running a red light, just to pull an example out of a hat. No helmets. But let's go with a trope as that always changes the facts. |
