Sadiq Khan is proposing a £2 clean air charge for all petrol and diesel vehicle journeys in London. Scheme could take effect in next two years as a precursor to smart per-mile road user charges. A 27% reduction in London's car traffic is required by 2030 to hit net-zero targets. Also considering boundary charges for vehicles entering London. London leading the way on policies that I expect will unite everybody who has been vocal in expressing in good faith their concerns about congestion and pollution on main roads including OneChiswick and our local Councillors. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-60030127 |
