It is also complete nonsense. The footpath under the bridge is so high above the road that a railing has had to be placed there to stop people falling off into the road. So one of the central reasons given by Ealing for keeping it closed ie that the footpath is very narrow, is not a reason at all, indeed it makes one wonder when they last looked at the footpath. Even if it were a good idea to spill off the pavement into the road, you cannot, you would break your neck- the footpath will not get wider if the road stays closed. It cannnot. And it is also dangerous for people to bypass the footpath and walk down in the road competing with the cyclists. Ealing abhor their Chiswick residents they never to do anything to treat us fairly. Now the 440 has gone the elderly and disabled must take taxis to the High Road or the health centre, with Fishers Lane closed these cost more. Yes a proper consultation about something, anything, would be good. |
