Yes we do need crash helmets for dealing with irate cyclist. I politely gave a cyclist a very short sound of my horn to make him aware that he was moving from his lane crossing the white line into lane I was in I continued in the lane I was in up to a set of lights that turned red. A few moments later I have the cyclist ranting at me through my side window, I didn’t respond so he tried my door handle, but that didn’t open, Then he went around to my wife’s side and tried that door handle and that didn’t open. So it was like someone had flicked a switch, he came back around to me and started kicking the side of my car , so I move my dash cam around to record what he was doing, that sent him on another planet. Which after a few goes Kicked my door mirror off. Another car driver said something to him, which distracted him, the lights were green so I drove off. But the cyclist still followed me, up the road, but that came to nothing. But if that guy had been at the wheel of a car I dare not think what could of happened. So be warned, if you have a system that automatically locks you car doors as you move off Use it, if that guy had got inside my car it may have been a different story. |
