I'm not sure why you think the Piccadilly line is "obviously" wheelchair accessible. There are plenty of busy stations on the Piccadilly which aren't wheelchair-accessible, e.g. Holborn, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, South Kensington, Gloucester Road, Barons Court. If, as is rumoured, LU intend to provide the Ealing Broadway service with Piccadilly trains, I think they would be forced to maintain the current District platforms at their current 'compromise' height, which I suspect would prevent wheelchair access to both sizes of train. |
