It’s a pity that LT didn’t hang onto assets, like the extra space and platforms at Gunnersbury, rather than flogging them off, probably for peanuts. It’s like they had no vision of increasing customer numbers. Now any improvements to stations like Gunnersbury are going to be so expensive they’ll never be done without external funding. They must just hope something will turn up... eventually. Both the Business Park and land around the station were once theirs. When they sold them off the money just went into the general kitty and nothing got spent locally. Funny that, I don’t think the same thing applied in the case of Gloucester Road. |
