Easily said, I'm not so sure about easily done. Where's the pier for the bridge in all this? Anyway, it'd be hugely expensive - my daughter's school installed a new lift recently, which was a simple job of building an external lift shaft adjacent to a modern rectangular building, and the cost of that was around a quarter of a million. Cutting two shafts through a Victorian railway arch adjacent to a road bridge, while not interfering with train operations or the availability of the station, is a much bigger and more complex job. I reckon you'd be lucky to get much change from £5m - and don't hold your breath waiting for that kind of money to become available. |
