Thanks for the info Richard. I understood that the new Piccadilly line trains (the so-called New Tube for London) were going to be capable of driverless operation even though they will use Automated Train Operation when they go into service in the 2020s. Given that tube trains last 40-50 years, it would seem sensible to support driverless operation even though they won't use it initially.
