I have experience with the BT call centre in India where you report faults with domestic phone lines. The woman said she couldn't send an Engineer out until I could prove it wasn't a problem with my phone. Now...having worked for them some years ago for several years and being in the IT business I knew it was a line issue. She said "You need to prove it is a line fault by using another phone to see if the problem persists" I said "I don't have another phone" she said "can't you borrow one from a Neighbour" "No" I said....."this is London"..."I don't talk to my neighbours". Anyway, I rang back an hour later and lied. I was right though, it was the line. |
