I particularly dislike call centre staff in general. A woman at Hounslow Council Tax department is particulalry unpleasant - she hung up on me! So I rang the complaints department - not that they'll do anything about it - I asked them to sack her! I once called National Rail enquiries asking when the next train from South Acton to Richmond was on the silverlink line - the call centre member of staff asked me if I was travelling via Cambridge! But HSBC call centre staff in India take the biscuit. I rang up to cancel a lost/ stolen card - I have 2 accounts with HSBC and they went and cancelled the wrong card despite me making very clear which card I needed to cancel. I only found out when my non-lost/stolen card was refused in Sainsbury's. Luckily the card wasn't stolen only lost (I found it some days later) but if it had of been the consequences financially could have been terrible. The only call centre that I don't mind ringing is Southern Electric - there is one very helpful and friendly lady I always hope that I get her when I call. |
