It would still come down to the gratitude of a relatively very small number of W4 voters versus the negative repercussions of indulging in "pork belly politics" with knock-on impacts to service and modernisation projects affecting a much, much larger number of voters.

Even if they lived here, I think Boris or Sadiq's political calculations would decide that it just wasn't worth it.  Boris did actually say that the Piccadilly line would stop at Turnham Green... once Piccadilly line modernisation permitted it... which is essentially the short version of my narrative.  There are limitations to what politicians can do, particularly with complex engineering projects when you just can't wave a magic wand to make things happen.
