Arnold,

My heart goes out to you and have a more than an knowledge of what we are both discussing. Since I was five I have suffered from epilepsy. Alas my latest is that I am one of the thirty percent who suffer from uncontrolled epilepsy.

My darling wife Lorna died on the 28th January 2014. She was brilliantly cared for in the Royal Brompton hospital Chelsea for the last three months of her life.

Lorna was being cared for her heart and lung illnesses. Lorna had also suffered from that awful illness Alzheimer's. I chose to keep Lorna at home with me and I was her full time carer for approximately the last six years of Lornas life.

We both took our marriage vows very seriously and I just wanted the best for Lorna at
All times. Keeping her at home with me in her 'own' surroundings helped us both.

The worst that I found with Lorna was her repetidness of questions. The way that found to deal with this was simply to change the subject matter, and to talk to Lorna about her childhood and slowly coming forward in time, and I found that this kept her much happier.

I do have a knowledge of Residential Nursing homes of when I used to visit them with a church group every week.

People are scared to say anything some of these homes because one never knows that if one complains what they might do when you go home.

Some are very good but there are some rated by CQC as adequate and indeed some inadequate.
