Having knocked up a Google Map showing the current extent of CPZs it struck me that Wolseley Gardens and Harvard Hill should be experiencing commuter parking problems as much as Elmwood, since they're off the A4, free and only five minutes from Gunnersbury Station. Returning home last night on the District Line a lady in front of me as I left the station took the same route as me back to Grove Park, under the A4, then got in her car on the corner of Wolseley and Harvard Hill and drove off up St. Mary's Grove. Doesn't prove she wasn't local (she could be driving from somewhere else in GP, after all), but shows that the park-and-ride commuter is a perfectly feasible beast on Grove Park's streets. By contrast the north side of the A4 has hardly any parking at all, while the streets on the south side are full. |
