Thomas "...the CPZ has clearly worked in Park and Staveley.." Worked for whom? Yes, it's great for the residents of those two roads who now live in quasi-private roads. But it most certainly has not worked for their neighbours who are struggling to deal with all the cars displaced into their streets. 72% of residents in Park Road do not need to park on the road, they have their own driveways. In Staveley Road, the % is even higher. Hell, fewer than half of them have even applied for a CPZ parking permit, because they don't need one!!!!! What a joke!! The 2-road CPZ should be rescinded. It was never needed, and no factual case for it was ever presented. Our CAF should recognise this and remove it. Then we wouldn't have all the problems which are forcing other roads to petition for their own CPZs. And who says we have to "persuade" residents in those two roads to go back to the previous status quo? Why are they the only ones allowed a voice here? We should be listening to all GP residents, not just the small % who think they ought to live in a private road. |
