I wondered how the scam worked! A courier company tried to deliver a package when I wasn't in (before Christmas), so I checked the tracking information and found it was from Vodaphone. When they tried to deliver it again the next day I refused it and it was sent back to Vodaphone (I checked the tracking again). The next week I had a letter from Vodaphone with details of 'my' direct debit details - the name was right, but not the bank or account details. I eventually managed to get a phone number for Vodaphone which wasn't extortionate, but didn't get much sense out of them. I'm very glad I wasn't there for the first delivery!
