Now this may have been mentioned already, but I think you should be more worried about the forthcoming re-valuation of properties in relation to council tax. A quick look at what has already happened in Wales, that some of my relatives inform me makes grim reading. For those on fixed incomes living in houses that they now could not afford the outlook is bleak. Its not good talking about equity that only comes in to play if the property is sold. It doesn't put money in the pocket now to pay the increases. London will not suffer this until 2007, but with the usual round of increases without any disernable improvement in services plus the milstone in the form of our ' wonderful' Mayor, the outlook for those on middle or low incomes is bleak indeed. Note nobody is talking about that until after the election, that figures. |
