"I think a fair proportion of UKIP voters are 'BNP-lite'.." I think a fair proportion of Labour voters are 'BNP-lite' - the BNP used to garner much of it's support from former Labour strongholds, and remember the dockers marching against immigration after Enoch Powell's speech about the River Tiber foaming with much blood ? "A vote for UKIP isn't a vote against the political elite, or a vote against federalism." As with all political parties, there are numerous different reasons why people vote for them. Some may vote UKIP as a vote against the political elite, others may vote UKIP as a vote against Euro-federalism, and others may vote UKIP as a protest against the UK's inability to control its borders with respect to immigration from the EU. Your blanket statements are foolish. "..suspicion and intolerance of anyone who isn't white straight, and male." Methinks thou dost protest too much. |
