| A group of elected representatives have reached out to their constituents openly to engage. In person, no less. Where a conversation can be had in real time. Imagine! Eye contact! Facial expression! Tone of voice! Zut alors! This is something members of one party opted to do. They opted to dunno, let's call it...represent. Members of another party wouldn't touch that process with a barge pole, as you all say here. I think you'll find you're wrong about people not having a chance to speak. Censure is just that. Shutting down the process is just that. Once. Twice. Three times. Doesn't matter. The situation involved detailed, prolonged engagement to assuage people whose lives will be turned upside down. Clearly you're not one of them. It would appear you don't care one whit what the impact will be. Including, but not limited to, the potential impact to the value of the real estate. I think these folks are waiting until next summer. They now have no other choice. You seem to take issue with them wanting to prepare for any eventual outcome. Where I come from, that's just being a good Boy Scout. Good contingency planning doesn't get pulled from a paper bag. |
