| Not sure why you must make it political, Mark. People who chose to live near a park assumed a park would be a peaceful neighbor. They did not, rightly so, think it would become a commercial entertainment venue non-stop for five years. Hell, even Glastonbury took a year off. What I think the Tories (to use your word) are doing is engaging with their constituents in a meaningful way, holding their hands, listening and being as proactive as possible in terms of being prepared to iron out the issues that will surely lie ahead. Now compare that to Labour who couldn't be bothered to engage. To the point they shut down commentary at a planning meeting. The very tool used to engage with the public. For my money, I want our elected and paid representatives to do their jobs and represent. I couldn't care less what party they belong to. But sadly, in these parts, Labour persistently silence, censure and bully. They deserve the bad rap they themselves create. Conservatives do the opposite. Imagine...civic duty, fortitude, being reasonable, courteous. Engaged. Listening. Trying. I know which one leads to a better community without a doubt. |
