Does anyone know the full facts? Why did the wooden frame appear to deteriorate so rapidly after the last restoration?

Full marks to Cllr Shaheen for "spinning gold out of trash". Placing the glass house on the At Risk Register will provide access to more sources of funding. Perhaps advice should be taken from Kew Gardens and draw on their experience of dealing with historic glass house structures.
